Arabba ski resort is located in the eastern Alpine range, in Belluno province, on the southeastern side of Sella Massif, where the Dolomite passes of Campolongo, Falzarego, Fedaia, and Pordoi, meet. It’s a splendid resort with good facilities for skiers and snowboarders and provides excellent skiing on challenging runs.
Situated at 1,600m above sea level amid spectacular mountain ranges, Arabba village has a commendable history and is fairly laid-back. The village also offers various visitor services, including first-aid and a range of quality shops.
There are over 3,500 beds available in 20 hotels, pensions, chalets and apartments, while the après-ski entertainment is located in the larger hotels, cafés and restaurants, as well as a handful of bars and discos. Non-ski facilities and activities include hiking, ice-skating and swimming.
Arabba ski resort has 50kms of downhill runs for beginner to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with an emphasis on intermediates. Twenty-six lifts operate over the entire ski field and comprise two cableways, nine chairlifts and 15 surface lifts, with a capacity for 23,000 people per hour.
For alternative skiing, the Marmolada is the highest mountain in the Dolomites and has excellent, uncrowded slopes that extend for about 15kms. In addition, the cable car ride up to Porta Vescovo offers a superb view of the Marmolada. Malga Ciapela and Rocca Pietore are amongst the most scenic villages located in the Upper Agordino region and offer interesting sightseeing.
Arabba ski resort ski season runs from December to May, with low season rates before the Christmas holidays and towards the end of the season. Arabba is best reached by flying to Venice-Marco Polo Airport and taking the train from Mestre to Belluno, from where buses go to the resort.
