Set in the Mount Washington Valley, in the Bartlett area of New Hampshire, Attitash is a resort with genuine all-round appeal. Its two interconnected mountains, Attitash and Bearpark, offer such a wide range of terrain that thrill-seekers and families are equally catered for. The dedicated Family Fun Zone offers a safe haven for those wanting to avoid the hectic atmosphere associated with busy runs.
The resort is geared to offering holidaymakers everything they need, with accommodation and all manner of other facilities easily accessible. The slope itself offers several lodging complexes, and within 13kms there are over a hundred motels, inns and lodges available. Mount Washington Valley is a thriving tourist area with over 200 tax-free outlet shops and hundreds of restaurants and bars. Childcare and first-aid facilities are also available.
There are 113 hectares of skiable terrain and a total of 70 trails and glades between the two mountains. Twelve chairlifts are in operation, with an impressive uphill lift capacity of 14,385 people per hour. For thrills, Attitash offers a super-pipe - the longest in New Hampshire, and a terrain park that’s rated as the best in Mount Washington Valley.
For alternative skiing, there is no shortage of destinations in New Hampshire, with Bretton Woods being one of the closer options. Après-ski and off-slope options are plentiful also, with shopping being a popular activity as there are many factory outlets in the area. In Conway, visit the Ham Arena for indoor ice-skating or consider mountain climbing, available at both the International Mountain Climbing School and the Eastern Slope Inn.
The ski season at Attitash runs from early November to late April, and the easiest way to get here is to fly to Portland (Maine) and transfer by hire car.
