Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Resort, USA

Located in the west of Wyoming, not far south of Yellowstone National Park, Jackson Hole Mountain is a remote and scenic ski resort offering some of the toughest skiing in the US. Jackson Hole also has great intermediate terrain, fine learning slopes and wonderful powder for snowboarders.

Facilities for the resort are in Teton Village, at the base of the mountain, and include: a ski shop and boutique, grocery store, pharmacy, first-aid and a post office. There is also a ski and snowboard school for ages six years and over, and the Kids Ranch has childcare facilities for ages two months to five years.

Teton Village offers a full range of accommodation, the most luxurious hotel being the new Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole, with its slope-side suites and residence club. You’ll also find cheaper slope-side lodgings and condos in the area, while the town of Jackson offers additional beds. International cuisine is served in the multitude of restaurants in Teton, and there are several bars for après-ski.

Jackson Hole Mountain ski resort has 76 slopes, with a large emphasis on intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders (Rendezvous Mountain), and a longest run of 11.5kms. Ten lifts, including a gondola and high-speed quads, serve the slopes across the huge 1,261-metre vertical, at a rate of 12,000 people per hour.

For alternative skiing, head north to Big Sky Mountain, known for its array of runs and excellent expert terrain. For a break from the slopes, nearby Jackson now flaunts fashionable boutiques and art galleries as opposed to the saloon and bordello-clad streets of its frontier days, while the world-famous Yellowstone National Park is also close by.

The ski season at Jackson Hole Mountain resort runs from early December to early April and prices stay the same throughout the season, with the exception of the Christmas holidays. Children under six years ski for free. The most convenient means of transportation is to fly to Jackson Hole and take a taxi or shuttle bus.
