Norefjell Ski and Snowboard Resort, Norway

Located to the north of Oslo, Norefjell ski resort has a good variety of ski and snowboard terrain, and is encompassed by magnificent mountain peaks. There are also some commendable off-piste and cross-country trails, as well as many activities available to the non-skier.

With tremendous panoramic views amid huge mountain peaks, Norefjell is an attractive and modern resort with a laid-back atmosphere and noteworthy amenities. Norefjell also comes with excellent childcare facilities.

Accommodation ranges from luxury hotels to Alpine-style cabins, and there are also slope-side establishments available. Non-ski activities include snowshoeing and swimming, and Norefjell has a selection of cafés, restaurants, discos and bars providing après-ski entertainment.

Twenty-three slopes, the longest of which is six kilometres, stretch over 24kms of fantastic terrain at Norefjell ski resort, with an emphasis on intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders. There are also a huge number of off-piste trails. Eleven lift systems supply all pistes and have an hourly capacity for 12,700 people.

Away from the slopes, picturesque Lake Kroderen is a short trip from Norefjell and offers wonderful sightseeing, while nearby Ringnes Gard is one of Norway’s oldest freehold farms. Farther away, Oslo is a city of parks and is located in a typically Norwegian setting at the head of a fjord overlooked by mountains.

The ski season at Norefjell runs from November to early May. The best way to get to the resort is to fly to Oslo and take a bus, or hire a car. Trains go as far as Honefoss, from where local buses go to Norefjell.
