Saint Gervais Ski and Snowboard Resort, France

Stunningly situated at the foot of Europe’s highest mountain, Mont Blanc, Saint Gervais ski resort is built around a historic spa that dates back to the Roman era. Located in one of the world’s best ski areas and with a wealth of après-ski activities, Saint Gervais ski resort has something for everyone.

Saint Gervais tastefully mixes the modern with the ancient in a typically Savoyard village setting. The town is dominated by a medieval baroque church and has dozens of historically important buildings scattered throughout it. Originally a market town, Saint Gervais has a wide variety of amenities catering not only to tourists but to the year round residents. The ski resort is proud of its authentic traditional atmosphere.

There is an endless variety of accommodation at Saint Gervais, with prices to suit all budgets. Hotels, chalets, cottages, cabins, villas and apartments make up the majority of the accommodation, and there are more than 30 restaurants offering both local Savoyard and French cuisine.

Nightlife is a little subdued compared with other resorts in the area and reflects Saint Gervais’ emphasis on families, although there is a tasteful selection of bars, a nightclub and a casino. For the ultimate relaxing après-ski experience, however, you can’t beat the spa.

Saint Gervais has 65kms of ski runs, made up of 47 slopes, with access provided by 27 lifts with a combined capacity of 24,000 skiers per hour. The highest lift is 2,350m, and the vertical descent is 1,200m. Snowboarders have a park and plenty of off-piste options, while cross-country skiers are catered to with over 30kms of picturesque trails.

Saint Gervais forms part of the Pays Du Mont Blanc pass area, so you can access some of the greatest ski resorts to be found in the region with one ski pass. If this is not enough for you, the legendary resort of Chamonix and Courmayeur are just a short drive away.

The ski season runs between early January and late April, with rates for ski passes remaining the same throughout the entire season. However, the tempting combination passes are available for both part of, and the whole of the Mont Blanc region. Arriving at the resort is simplest if you fly direct to Geneva International Airport and take a short taxi ride or bus transfer to the resort.
