Solda - Trafoi is situated in the heart of the Alpine circle, the most northern region in Italy, in the mountainous zone of the Ort les-Cevedale range and Stelvio National Park. Solda - Trafoi is a small resort with spectacular views of nearby Switzerland and Austria, and has some great intermediate level pistes.
Solda and Trafoi are two idyllic Alpine villages with less than 500 permanent residents and over 2,000 guest beds. Surrounded by awesome mountains, these peaceful, out-of-the way resort villages are characterised by traditional stone and wood chalets, and their excellent facilities.
Accommodation is in Alpine lodges, chalets and hotels, with 2,300 beds on offer in total. Ice-skating and swimming are among the non-skiing activities, while plenty of eateries, including superb mountain restaurants, and several low-key bars and discos, make for an interesting après-ski. Childcare and ski schools are also available.
The Solda - Trafoi ski resort has 50kms of mainly intermediate skiing and snowboarding terrain, situated between 1,850 and 2,499m above sea level. Seventeen lifts run over all pistes and include a cable car, chairlifts and draglifts. Off-piste terrain is also available for eager snowboarders.
For alternative skiing, there are three nearby resorts within the Ort les-Cevedale mountain range, offering fantastic skiing and snowboarding for all skill levels. Transport is provided by shuttles to and from the various resorts.
The ski season at Solda - Trafoi ski resort runs from November to April, with a good snow record during these months. The most convenient means of getting to Solda - Trafoi is to fly to Bolzano and transfer by bus.
