Getting to Adelboden / Lenk, Switzerland for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Adelboden / Lenk ski resort sits between Geneva and Zürich, high up in the Swiss Alps, and is accessible by a combination of air and rail. The most convenient way to get there is to fly to Zürich International Airport and transfer by train service to Frutigen which is 15kms and a short bus journey to the resort. An alternative is to fly to Basel and catch a train service running to Frutigen. A package holiday will often pre-arrange all travel arrangements for you.

The nearest international airports to Adelboden / Lenk are in Zürich, 195kms from the resort, and Bern which is also serviced by the UK. Travel to Zürich is the easiest option, with hire vehicles available from the airport as well as trains to the station of Frutigen situated 15kms by bus from Adelboden / Lenk.

By car, Adelboden / Lenk is about 849kms from Calais; driving time 8 hours, 45 minutes, and toll road costs are €19. The journey will take you through France before arriving into Switzerland. If you plan to fly to Zürich and hire a vehicle, follow the route on motorway A1 from Zurich to Bern, then the A6 motorway from Bern to Spiez, and the main road for Frutigen-Adelboden. From Basel, take the A2 to Bern, and continue along the same route as indicated from Bern.

By train, travel from London to Paris by Eurostar, leaving from London Waterloo or Ashford in Kent. From Paris, catch the overnight sleeper to Basel and Zürich. The journey from London should take around 13 hours in total. From Zürich and Basel, trains are available to the nearest train station at Frutigen, from where there is a bus service to the resort.
