Getting to Altenmarkt, Austria for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

The Altenmarkt / Zauchensee ski resort is very convenient to reach by any transportation method, whether air, road or train.

Salzburg Airport provides the main gateway to the resort, being just an hour (70kms) from Altenmarkt. The Tauern autobahn via Graz connects the resort to the airport. Munich Airport has more European and transcontinental flight options, is just over two hours (250kms) away by car and also has rail connections.

Road access is via the A10 motorway. You can take either the Bischofshofen-Altenmarkt exit or travel the more scenic route through the Selztal Valley via Schladming to Altenmarkt. Total road distance from Calais is around 1,400kms, with an extensive system of motorways making the journey fast and comfortable.

Altenmarkt train station can be reached via Salzburg, Bischofshofen or Graz, Radstadt. From London’s Waterloo station, take the Eurostar to Bruxelles-Midi, InterCityExpress to Frankfurt, CityNightLine to Salzburg, InterCity to Traunstein, and then RegionalBahn to Altenmarkt. The trip takes around 19 hours.

Altenmarkt and Zauchensee are connected by Skibuses that regularly ply the 10-kilometre route.
