Getting to Alyeska, USA for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Alyeska ski resort is located 65kms southeast of Anchorage and is well connected by road. Most people fly to Anchorage International Airport and hire a car, while the Alyeska Prince Hotel has package holidays available including free transportation from the airport.

Anchorage International Airport is served by many major airlines, but if you are flying from the east coast, you should shop around as flights can be expensive. If you don’t have a car and are not staying at the Prince Hotel, the Magic Bus serves Alyeska. By hire car, head south from the airport down Minnesota Drive to Highway 1 (south), for Girdwood. From Girdwood, head north along the Alyeska Highway to the resort.

If you are self-driving from Vancouver and the western seaboard of the US, the drive takes in Prince George and Whitehorse via routes 99 and 97. From Prince George, highway 16, route 37 and route 1 pass Whitehorse and continue on to Anchorage and Alyeska (five to six days and over 3,500kms).
