Getting to Aspen, USA for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Aspen Mountain (Ajax) ski resort is five kilometres south of Aspen and 260kms southwest of Denver, and is straightforward to get to by road, while rail access is possible for part of the way. The most convenient way here is undoubtedly by flying to Aspen Pitkin County Airport and taking a local bus to Aspen and free shuttle to Ajax from there.

Denver International Airport is the nearest major airport and is four hours away by shuttle bus, while Aspen Pitkin County Airport is only six kilometres from Aspen and receives numerous daily domestic flights. Eagle County Regional Airport, 110kms north of Aspen, is another option.

By road, Denver is at the junction of I-25 (north-south) and I-70 (east-west). Coming from Denver, take I-70 west to Glenwood Springs and connect with highway 82 south, which leads to the centre of Aspen city (256kms; three to four hours).

You can also get part of the way by train, with a daily Amtrak service from Denver to Glenwood Springs, from where public transport runs on to Aspen. Supershuttle and Colorado Mountain Express are two bus companies offering transfers to Aspen from Denver; Colorado Mountain Express also makes a stop at Eagle County Airport.
