Getting to Bad Gastein, Austria for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Conveniently positioned along a major motorway, near large airports, and with its own railway station, Bad Gastein is very easy to reach by any transportation method.

Bad Gastein is an hour (100kms) south of Salzburg and two hours (237kms) from Munich. Salzburg Airport provides the main gateway to the resort; however, Munich Airport has more European and transcontinental flight options. There are direct train and bus connections from both airports to the ski resort.

Total road distance from Calais is around 1,400kms, with an extensive system of motorways making the journey fast and comfortable. Road access is via the A10 motorway. Take the Bischofshofen exit and follow route 311 to Lend, then route 167 to the resort.

Bad Gastein train station can be reached via Salzburg or Munich. From London’s Waterloo station, take the Eurostar to Bruxelles-Midi, Thalys to Koln, InterCityExpress to Munich, and then Nacht-Schnellzug to Bad Gastein. The trip takes around 17 hours in total.
