Getting to Breckenridge, USA for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Breckenridge ski resort is located 130kms southwest of Denver in Summit County of central Colorado, and is directly accessible by road only. The proximity of Denver and I-70 makes self-drive appealing; whereas flying into Denver or Eagle County airports and transferring by shuttle bus is the easiest option.

Denver International is the closest major airport to Breckenridge and receives major carriers from across the globe. An alternative regional airport is in Eagle, to the west of Breckenridge; flights arrive here from around the country. The Colorado Mountain Express runs shuttles from both airports to the resort.

If you’re travelling by car from Denver’s airport, take Pena boulevard to I-70. Continue along I-70 west all the way to exit 205, from where Summit boulevard and highway 9 go to Breckenridge. Drive through town and take South Park avenue, on which the ski resort’s main entrance is located (170kms; two hours). Eagle Airport is about 110kms west of Breckenridge on I-70.

Denver is fed by I-25 (north-south) and I-70 (east-west), originating in Baltimore. Denver is served by Amtrak trains and Greyhound Lines buses from all points and surrounding states. In Breckenridge, you can take advantage of the Breckenridge Free Ride; while the Summit Stage bus provides free transportation between nearby towns and Breckenridge.
