Getting to Calabogie, Canada for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Calabogie Peaks ski resort lies in the Ottawa Valley, 100kms west of the capital city of Ottawa and 390kms northeast of Toronto, and is only directly accessible by road. Many travellers opt for the easy option of flying to Ottawa and taking a bus transfer or hiring a car.

The nearest airport is Ottawa International, receiving flights from all over the world. If you’re driving from Ottawa International Airport, head north towards Ottawa, turning left on to route 32 (west), which leads on to highway 417 towards Arnprior, from where highway 17 and route 508 carries on to Calabogie (110kms; 1 hour, 30 minutes).

If you’re driving from Toronto, head east along highway 401 to Belleville, from where highways 37 and 7 go to Perth and then highway 511 goes north to Calabogie (390kms; four to five hours). Driving from New York involves at least an eight-hour journey along Interstates 80 and 81 (east of Lake Ontario) and on up to Brockville. From here, take highway 29 to Perth and 511 to Calabogie.

There are three or four trains a day from Toronto to Ottawa, taking around four hours, while trains from Montréal to Ottawa go every three hours and take under two.

Several Greyhound buses, which take about five hours, go from Toronto to Ottawa daily. Day and night buses also go from New York to Ottawa and take around 11 hours; and from Chicago, taking 19 hours. From Ottawa, take a local bus or taxi to Calabogie Peaks ski resort.
