Getting to Dodge Ridge, USA for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Dodge Ridge ski resort is located near the town of Pinecrest and is 255kms east of San Francisco. The resort is only directly accessible by road, but its proximity with San Francisco makes driving fairly straightforward. The most popular form of travel, however, is to fly to San Francisco and transfer by shuttle bus.

Reno-Tahoe International Airport is the nearest major airport; it receives numerous domestic flights but limited international arrivals in comparison with San Francisco International Airport. Shuttle bus companies run from both airports to the nearby towns and Dodge Ridge resort. Oakland International Airport is another alternative.

By car from San Francisco Airport and the city, head south on highway 101 and east across the Bay Bridge to I-580, which leads on to I-205 and I-5 towards Manteca. Head for Oakdale on highway 120, from where highway 108 goes all the way to Pinecrest. Turn right at Pinecrest on to Dodge Ridge road for the resort (255kms; three to four hours).

San Francisco is served by the north-south highway 1 and I-80 from Sacramento in the east, while the main (north-south) I-5 runs through to the east of the city. San Francisco is also served by Greyhound Lines buses and Amtrak trains from the north and south, but journey times are long.
