Getting to Formigal, Spain for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Located just about in the centre of the Pyrenees, eight kilometres from the French border, Formigal shares the same valley with Panticosa ski resort.

The two closest major cities with airports are Zaragoza and Pamplona. Aviaco has direct flights to Zaragoza from Madrid and Barcelona, while Pamplona is the air hub of the Navarre region. The city is served by two weekday Aviaco flights from both Madrid and Barcelona; international connections can be made from either city. Arrivals are at Aeropuerto de Noaín, 6.5kms from the city centre and accessible only by taxi.

To drive from Zaragoza, take the N-123 to Huesca. From Lerida, journey along the N-240 to Huesca and then the C-136 north to Formigal.

Zaragoza is served by eight daily trains from Barcelona (four hours) and eight from Madrid (3 hours, 30 minutes to 5 hours). Pamplona has three daily trains from Madrid (five to six hours) and two to three from Barcelona (seven to nine hours). Pamplona also has three daily train connections from San Sebastián to the north (1 hour, 15 minutes) and four to seven daily from Zaragoza to the south (two to three hours).

There is one direct bus a day running between Zaragoza and Barcelona (seven hours). Buses connect Pamplona with several major Spanish cities: four per day from Barcelona (six hours), five to seven per day from Zaragoza (3 hours, 30 minutes), and nine per day from San Sebastián (1 hour, 30 minutes).
