Getting to Isola 2000, France for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Isola 2000 ski resort is 90kms north of Nice, on the Mediterranean coast, in the Southern Alps. Due to its remoteness, Isola 2000 is best accessed by air and Skibus. There is no railway station nearby, so travelling by train will involve a long bus ride, while self-driving is also a lengthy option.

Nice-Cote d'Azur Airport is the closest and most convenient international airport and is the transport hub for the region. There are regular flights with Easyjet from Liverpool to Nice, and a regular and convenient ski bus operates between the airport and the resort. Taxis and helicopters are also available, but will prove expensive.

Self-driving from the UK will invariably involve a Dover-Calais ferry-crossing. From Calais, the quickest route goes via Reims, Dijon, Lyon, Chambery, Turin and Cuneo. From Cuneo, head southwest along the SP-41 and SS-21 to Isola 2000 (1,200kms; 12 hours). From Nice-Cote d'Azur Airport, drive north along the N-202 and the D-2205 to Isola village. From the village, head east on the D-97 for Isola 2000 ski resort (85kms; 1 hour, 30 minutes).

By train from London, there are regular Eurostar departures from Waterloo station to Paris (Nord). Direct high-speed TGVs then go to Nice from nearby gare de Lyon and arrive about six hours later. Total journey time is 9 hours, 30 minutes. From Nice, take the Skibus to the resort.
