Getting to Jaspers Marmot Basin, USA for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Jasper’s Marmot Basin is located near the border of British Columbia in the southwest of Alberta, and is 415kms northwest of Calgary and 360kms southwest of Edmonton. The most popular travel option is to fly to Edmonton and take a shuttle bus or hire car.

Edmonton International is the closest airport and is mainly served by Air Canada and Canadian Airlines. You can also fly here from London and most North American cities. Calgary International Airport is the next best alternative. Sundog Tour shuttle services run to Jasper from Edmonton and Calgary airports as well as from Banff.

By car from Edmonton, Jasper is 362kms and four to five hours west on Trans Canada Highway 16. The ski area of Marmot Basin is 20kms south of Jasper via highways 93, 93A and Marmot Basin road. From Calgary, Marmot is 425kms along Trans Canada Highway 1, highways 93, 93A and Marmot Basin road.

By train, the 1950s-style art deco train (The Canadian, or Snow Train) runs to Jasper from Edmonton and Vancouver. It departs from Edmonton on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 08:55, and arrives in Jasper at 14:15. Greyhound operates a daily service from Edmonton and Vancouver, with a stop in Jasper.
