Getting to Krvavec, Slovenia for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Krvavec ski resort is located in the north of Slovenia, 32kms from Ljubljana and 265kms south of Salzburg. Options for getting here include flying to Ljubljana (Brnik Airport) and taking a taxi, which is the easiest option. Self-drive and rail travel are other alternatives.

Slovenia has excellent roads and is an integral part of the European motorway network, with road crossings from Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. If you’re driving from the UK, the best route from Calais takes in major motorways and goes via Reims, Metz, Strasbourg, Stuttgart, Munich, Salzburg, Villach and Kranj. From there, head northeast through Sencur and Visoko (1,370kms; 14 hours).

You can enter Slovenia by train from Italy (via Trieste), Austria (via Graz and Villach) and Croatia. If you’re coming from London, Eurostar trains go through the Chunnel to Paris (four hours), from where there’s an overnight service to Munich. A Eurocity then runs to Salzburg, from where a regional goes to Villach and another service goes onto Kranj. Take a bus or taxi from there to Krvavec.
