Getting to Le Massif, Canada for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Le Massif ski resort is 90kms northeast of Québec City on the St Lawrence River in the beautiful Charlevoix region of southern Québec and is directly accessible by road only. Most travellers fly to Québec City and transfer by bus; while train travel to Québec and driving from the US is also straightforward.

Québec-Jean Lesage International Airport is the nearest major airport to Le Massif and receives direct flights from Montréal, Toronto, Ottawa, Newark and Detroit. Alternatively, Montréal’s Dorval Airport receives flights from all over the world. L'Express du Massif coaches leave from Montréal, via Québec City, for Le Massif. If you hire a car from Québec’s airport, take highways 40 and 138 (100kms; 1 hour, 30 minutes).

By road from Montréal, take highway 20, which passes through Québec City, and on to highway 138 (340kms; four hours). If travelling from New York, take I-87 north for Montréal (cross the border on to highway 15), bypass the city northeast and then take highway 20 to Québec City and highway 138 to Le Massif; allow two days for travel (930kms; 10 to 11 hours).

There are regular train services from across Canada to Québec City as well as connections from US cities. Five trains per day, including a night train, run from Toronto to Québec City, going via Montréal, and taking from between eight and 16 hours. A daily service leaves from New York (Penn station) to Montréal at 08:15 and arrives at 18:30. Onward services to Québec City are frequent.

There are eight Greyhound bus departures per day from Toronto to Québec City (going via Montréal), including a night bus, taking around 12 hours. Frequent services also run from Ottawa.
