Lenzerheide and Valbella lie just south of Chur and 140kms southeast of Zürich in the region of Graubünden. Lenzerheide and Valbella are only accessible by road, but there are numerous connections by rail from London to nearby Chur and, due to an excellent network of autobahns, self-drive is straightforward. The most practical way to get here is to fly to Zürich and transfer by train/bus.
The gateway airport is Zürich International Airport and there are numerous flights here, both scheduled and charter, from around the world. There is at least one train an hour departing for Valbella and Lenzerheide, with a change at Zürich, and then Chur, from where you need to take a Postbus to either resort (2 hours, 30 minutes).
The drive from Calais is 975kms and about nine hours; sole drivers should allow two days. The quickest route bypasses the cities of Reims, Metz, Strasbourg, Basel, Zürich and Chur. From Chur, take route 3 to Valbella then Lenzerheide. From Zürich Airport, drive through the city and head for the (A-3/13) Chur autobahn. Circle Chur and take the Waffenplatz Strasse/route 3 for the resorts.
Several daily and nightly trains leave from London to connect with other trains to Chur. There are between two and five changes, taking from 13 to 20 hours. The best connection for time and fewest changes is the 07:43 Eurostar departure from Waterloo to Brussels (Midi). A Eurocity train leaves Brussels for Chur at 12:15, arriving at 21:45, then you change to the Chur bus station and catch the 22:00 Postbus for Valbella and Lenzerheide (30 minutes). This journey takes just under 14 hours.
