Getting to Les Diablerets, Switzerland for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Located in the region of Vaud, near Lake Geneva, Les Diablerets ski resort is accessible by road and rail and there are plenty of options for getting here. Many prefer to fly to Geneva or Zürich, and take a train, or hire a car. Train travel from London is fairly convenient, and self-drive is also popular.

The closest major airport is Geneva-Cointrin Airport, which receives regular scheduled and charter flights from all over the world. Trains go from the airport to Les Diablerets with one change at Aigle (2 hours, 30 minutes). Alternatively, Zürich International Airport has more flight options, but the train journey involves two to three changes and takes four hours.

If you're self-driving from Calais, take the Reims-Dijon-Lausanne route. From Lausanne, drive around the Lake Geneva autobahn (A-9) and take route 11 for Les Diablerets (832kms; eight hours). From Cointrin Airport, take the (A-1/A-9) Lake Geneva autobahn and exit on to route 11, as above (127kms; 1 hour, 15 minutes).

By train from London, there are services throughout the day and night, with three to four changes to Les Diablerets. Trains take between 9 and 16 hours depending on the connection. The 08:12 Eurostar departure from Waterloo to Paris (Nord) is a good option, eventually arriving in Les Diablerets at 18:20, with three changes.

From Paris (Nord), take the metro to gare de Lyon from where a TGV goes to Lausanne. From here, an Interregional goes on to Aigle, with another change to a Regional train for Les Diablerets; the total travel time is just over nine hours.
