Getting to Les Gets, France for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Only 65kms east of Geneva and 100kms northeast of Lyon, Les Gets is relatively easy to get to. It is only directly accessible by car, but there is an important rail terminal in nearby Cluses, while Geneva is the air hub for the region. Most travellers fly to Geneva and take the dedicated Skibus to Les Gets, while international rail travel and self-drive are also popular.

Geneva-Cointrin Airport is the nearest and receives flights from a multitude of destinations, budget carriers included. Options for transfer to Les Gets ski resort include: the Skibus; a train to Cluses, and then a bus or taxi from there; a taxi from the airport; or car hire from the airport. Chambery and Lyon-Satolas are alternative airports.

Driving from the UK usually involves a ferry crossing from Dover to Calais, from where the quickest route to Les Gets goes via Reims, Dijon and Annemasse (near Geneva). From here, carry on east along the A-40 and exit on to the D-304 on a heading for Les Gets (875kms; eight to nine hours). The resort is 70kms from Geneva-Cointrin Airport along the A-40 and D-304.

By train, getting to Cluses (near Les Gets) from London is straightforward, with only one change in Paris. Several daily Eurostar trains leave from Waterloo station in London for Paris (Nord). Change to gare de Lyon for the Cluses-bound line which is regularly serviced by high-speed TGV trains; the journey takes about three hours. Buses go to Les Gets all day from Cluses.
