Getting to Limone Piemonte, Italy for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Limone Piemonte is situated near the French border, 100kms from Nice and 120kms south of Turin, and is accessible by road and rail. The fastest and most convenient option for getting here is to fly to Turin and hire a car, while long distance rail travel is straightforward and self-driving is also feasible.

Nice’s Cote d’Azur Airport is the nearest, but Turin’s Casselle Airport offers better transport options. Both airports offer rail service, via their respective cities, to Limone Piemonte, while car hire is undoubtedly the quickest alternative. From Turin-Casselle Airport, bypass the city and head south along the A-6/SS-231 and SS-20 (147kms; two hours).

From Nice’s Cote d’Azur Airport, bypass the city and head east along the A-8 into Italy, and then north along the SS-20, which then heads back into France as the N-204, before crossing the Italian border again as the SS-20 (110kms; 1 hour, 30 minutes).

Driving form the UK will usually involve a Dover to Calais ferry crossing. From Calais, the quickest route goes via Reims, Dijon, Lyon, Chambery and Turin. From here, follow the A-6 and SS-20 to Limone Piemonte (1,180kms; 10 to 11 hours).

Getting here by train is a fairly attractive option with minimal changes. If you’re coming from London, there are several Eurostar departures from Waterloo station to Paris, from where high-speed overnight trains go to Turin. From Turin, take an FS State Train to Limone Piemonte.
