Getting to Meiringen / Hasliberg, Switzerland for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Meiringen / Hasliberg ski resort is located in the Bern region of the Swiss Alps and there are many options for getting here. Flying to Zurich and taking one of the hourly trains is the most practical option. Self-drive is popular due to the excellent network of motorways, while rail travel is the least attractive, with several connections.

The closest airports are in Zürich and Geneva; the former being more popular due to more flight options and better train connections. Trains leave Zürich International Airport at 13 minutes past the hour and there are up to two changes (Zürich and/or Lucerne). Trains only going via Lucerne take 2 hours, 40 minutes.

By car, Meiringen is 900kms and eight hours from Calais, via Reims, Metz, Strasbourg, Basel and Lucerne. From Lucerne, take the (A-8) Lucerne-Thun autobahn and exit southeast on to the Brünigstrasse for Meiringen. From Zürich International Airport, Meiringen is 117kms along the Lucerne and Thun autobahns, and the Brünigstrasse.

There are regular train departures from London (Waterloo station) with links to Meiringen, including three to five changes and taking from 11 to 18 hours. The 09:09 Eurostar from Waterloo to Paris (Nord) is the most convenient connection. A TGV goes from Paris (gare de Lyon) to Geneva and then with two more changes (Bern and Interlaken) via Intercity and Regional trains. The Regional arrives in Meiringen at 21:15.
