Getting to Mount Rose, USA for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Located only 35kms from downtown Reno, with Lake Tahoe to the west and the state of Nevada to the east, Mount Rose is a 25-minute drive from Reno-Tahoe International Airport. A flight to Reno, followed by a hotel shuttle bus or hire car, is the most convenient means of travel.

Reno-Tahoe International Airport has more than a hundred non-stop flights a day from international destinations and various parts of the US. Scheduled service shuttles run from the airport to various downtown destinations, and hotels may collect passengers from the airport as well. Taxis and limousines are also available to downtown Reno. Once in Reno, visitors can connect with the resort by hotel shuttle buses. For convenience, an airport car rental can get you to both downtown Reno and Mount Rose.

Driving from the airport, head south down highway 395, exiting right at the sign for highway 431. Mount Rose is off highway 431 on the left-hand side and is easy to see. If you reach Lake Tahoe itself, you’ve gone too far. Drivers from South Lake Tahoe should take highway 50 to highway 28 and follow this until reaching a right turn on to highway 431. Mount Rose is a short distance from the turn, on the right-hand side.

Oakland to Chicago and destinations in between are covered by the train line, and passengers can take the Amtrak train as far as Reno and then transfer from Reno by one of the previously mentioned means.

Buses to the resort are privately run only and are operated mainly by the major hotels in Reno. The Reno Ski Shuttle and the Tahoe Ski Shuttle services both run to the resort; passengers are advised to book seats beforehand.
