Getting to Pra Loup, France for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Pra Loup is located in the Alpes de Haute Provence, 235kms northeast of Marseille, and is only directly accessible by road. Flying to Marseille and taking a train and bus combination transfer is the most practical travel option, while rail travel via Aix en Provence, and self-drive, are also popular.

The nearest airport is Nice-Cote d’Azur Airport, but inconvenient transfer options and minor roads do not favour it. Marseille-Marignane Airport is the best airport to fly into, with regard to flight options and transfers. A combination of rail travel to Gap, via Aix en Provence, and bus, will get you to Pra Loup.

By road from Marseille, take the A-7 and A-51 towards Aix en Provence and continue on this autoroute all the way to La Saulce, from where the D-900B goes to Pra Loup (236kms; less than three hours).

If coming from the UK by car, the quickest route from Calais uses major autoroutes and goes via Reims, Dijon, Lyon, Grenoble and Gap. From Gap, take the N-85 and D-900B south, and then head east to Pra Loup (1,040kms; 10 to 11 hours).

There are a number of options for rail travel. If coming from the UK, take a regular Paris-bound Eurostar from London, Waterloo station. High-speed TGV trains then go to Aix en Provence, from where you can hire a car, or take a regional train to Gap, and then a bus to Pra Loup. There is also a direct overnight service available from Paris to Gap.
