Getting to Saas-Fee, Switzerland for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Saas - Fee ski resort is 112kms south of Bern and is situated in the canton of Valais. Saas - Fee is only directly accessible by road and getting here usually involves a plane/train/bus combination. The most convenient way is to fly to Geneva and hire a car at the airport. There is a train/bus connection from London, and self-drive is also an option.

Zürich International Airport and Geneva-Cointrin Airport are equidistant from Saas - Fee, with the former having better flight options, and the latter, better transfer options. Trains from Zürich's airport go via Bern and Spiez, to Brig; while from Geneva, trains run directly to Brig. From here, take an hourly bus (post-car) to Saas-Fee.

The quickest self-drive option from Calais to Saas - Fee takes in major motorways, via Reims, Dijon, Lausanne and Sion. Before you reach Brig on the A-9 autobahn, head south and follow the signs (930kms; 10 hours). From Geneva-Cointrin Airport, Saas-Fee is accessible by following the (A-1/A-9) Lake Geneva autobahn towards Brig (227kms; three hours). From Zürich International Airport, head for Thun along the A-1 and A-6, and then take route 223 for Brig (234kms; 3 hours, 40 minutes).

By train from London, the 08:12 Eurostar from Waterloo is the most popular and convenient connection. There is a change at Paris to gare de Lyon, from where a TGV goes to Lausanne; from there, another connection goes to Brig. From Brig, the bus goes on to Saas - Fee ski resort. This route takes 11 hours.
