Getting to Sestriere, Italy for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Situated near the French border and 100kms west of Turin, in the southwestern Alps, Sestriere ski resort is only directly accessible by road, with excellent public transport available. The easiest way to get here is to fly to Turin and transfer to Sestriere by train and bus, while international rail travel is popular, as is self-drive.

Turin-Casselle Airport is the nearest international airport to Sestriere, which receives regular international flights, including budget options from Stansted (London). Trains go via Turin to Oulx on the Bardonecchia-Turin line, from where buses and taxis go from Oulx to the resort. By car, Sestriere is 105kms along the A-32 (west) to Oulx, and then on the SS-24 and SS-23.

Sestriere is only 20kms from the A-32 and the European motorway network and is straightforward to get to from Calais and other European cities. Milan is 230kms away; Paris is 715kms from Sestriere; and Calais is just over 1,000kms away, via Reims, Dijon, Lyon and Chambery. From Chambery, continue on the A-43, go through the Frejus Tunnel and on to Italy’s A-32 to Oulx, from where the SS-24/23 goes to Sestriere.

By train, there is an overnight service from Paris to Turin; Eurostar trains from London (Waterloo station) go to Paris all day, from where a regular regional train runs to Oulx on the Bardonecchia-Turin line. Buses and taxis complete the journey to Sestriere from Oulx train station. High-speed TGV trains also go to Turin from Paris during the day.
