Getting to Sierra at Tahoe, USA for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Sierra at Tahoe is situated just south of Lake Tahoe and 285kms northeast of San Francisco, and is best accessed by flying to Reno/Tahoe International Airport and driving or taking a hotel shuttle bus. Self-drive is also very popular due to the close proximity of San Francisco and highway 50.

Reno/Tahoe International Airport is the choice of entry from the air and has more than a hundred non-stop flights a day from various parts of the country as well as limited overseas arrivals. Most hotels in the South Lake Tahoe area offer free shuttles. San Francisco International Airport is an alternative, while nearby Lake Tahoe Airport receives limited traffic from within California.

By car from Reno, head south along highway 395 to beyond Carson City, from where highway 50 goes west and southwest, and then Sierra –at - Tahoe road goes south to the resort. From San Francisco, head northeast (over the Bay Bridge) along I-80 to Sacramento, from where highway 50 and Sierra – at -Tahoe road go to the resort.
