Solden Otztal-Arena is situated in the south of Tyrol, 54kms southwest of Innsbruck. You can get here by flying to one of the airports in the region, and then taking a train and bus, or hire a car. Other options include a combination of driving and rail travel, with regular connections from London. The most practical way is to fly to Munich and take a train and bus combination.
There are five airports with links to Solden: Munich, Zürich, Friedrichshafen, Salzburg and Innsbruck. Friedrichshafen is the closest international airport, but flying to Munich is usually cheaper, with far more options. Rail transfer from Munich's FJ Strauss Airport goes via Innsbruck and terminates at Otztal station. From here, local buses go to Solden, taking about five hours in total.
If you're travelling by car from Calais, allow two days to get to Solden. The quickest route goes via Reims, Metz, Stuttgart and Ulm along tolled highways (1,169kms). From FJ Strauss Airport, drive west along the A-92, and south along the A-9, A-99 (bypass) and A-8 autobahns. From the A-8, take the A-93 and A-12 south for approximately 155kms, and then turn left on to the B-186 for Solden.
By train, two daily Eurostar trains go from London's Waterloo Station, at 10:29 and 17:09, to Paris' gare du Nord. In Paris, take the métro to gare de Lyon station from where the morning train goes to Zürich. From Zürich, several trains, regular and express, run to Otztal on the Innsbruck line. From Otztal, take a bus or taxi to Solden.
