Getting to St Anton am Arlberg, Austria for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Located in the Arlberg region of Austria, west of Innsbruck, St Anton is simple to get to with many options on hand. The most practical way of getting here is to fly to either Zürich or Munich and take a train to the resort (both airports are equipped with rail terminals). Travelling by train from major centres is also a good option, and driving is possible as well.

Friedrichshafen International Airport is the closest, but Zürich and Munich have far more options. The train from Munich Airport goes via Innsbruck, with a change to the Arlberg Express, linking the centre of St Anton. The train journey from Zürich Airport is about three hours and there are also four shuttles per day (€45 one way, €75 return). Austria's Innsbruck Airport is the most convenient, if you can get a cheap flight, with transfer by Skibus, or train from the city.

By car, Zürich International Airport is 200kms west of St Anton, via the A-11, A-1 and A-14 autobahns, and S-16 (two hours). Munich's FJ Strauss Airport is 300kms northwest on autobahns A-9, A-99 (Münich bypass), A-8 and A-12 (three hours). The trip from Calais to St Anton is a two-day (1,035kms) journey, via the cities of Reims, Metz, Strasbourg, Basel and Zürich.

Because of St Anton's good rail connections to eastern and western Austria, most visitors arrive by train. The Arlberg Express train from Innsbruck leaves every hour. From London, Eurostar trains go from Waterloo Station to Paris' gare du Nord at 10:29 and 17:09. From Paris, both trains to Zürich leave from gare de Lyon, the earlier is a high-speed TGV to Zürich, and the latter is an overnighter. From Zürich, trains go all day to St Anton, via Bludenz.
