There are several ways of getting here and the most practical option is to fly to Salzburg, take a shuttle to the train station and take a one-hour train to the resort. Travelling by car is a popular option, with the close proximity of the A-10 (Salzburg-Villach) autobahn, and train connections available from London.
The nearest international airport is in Salzburg and receives all domestic flights and carriers from the rest of Europe and worldwide, both scheduled and charter services. Regular shuttles and buses go from the airport to Salzburg train station, from where trains go to St Johann every two hours. St Johann lies directly on the main rail line connecting Munich and Salzburg with Klagenfurt, Venice and Trieste. Between 05:40 and 21:00, these trains depart from Salzburg's Hauptbahnhof no more than two hours apart; the trip time is just under one hour. Unless you're coming in from one of the neighbouring villages, arriving by bus in St Johann isn't practical because of the multiple transfers required from such cities as Salzburg and Innsbruck.
