Getting to St Moritz, Switzerland for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

St Moritz is nestled deep in the Engadine valley, in the canton of Graubunden. Getting there means traveling by air, rail and road or a combination of all three. The most practical way to reach the resort is to fly to Zürich and board a train travelling to Chur, from where another train will connect you with the resort. Alternatively, travel with Eurostar to Paris, board the overnight train to Chur and connect with a local train service to the resort. All connections are usually pre-arranged when travelling on a package deal.

The closest international airport to St Moritz is 206kms away in Zürich. Fly there from the UK and board a train travelling to the station of Chur. From Chur, transfer onto a local train service to St Moritz. Alternatively, hire your own private Lear Jet from Zürich and fly to the resort's own airstrip.

By car, St Moritz is 972kms from Calais, with a driving time of 10 hours, 25 minutes and toll road costs of €19. The journey takes you through France, into Switzerland. If flying to Zürich and hiring a car, travel to Chur and then on to the Julier Pass before heading to St Moritz. The journey should take around four hours in total.

By train, catch the Eurostar from London Waterloo or Ashford in Kent to Paris, taking four hours in travel time. From there, board the overnight train to Chur in Switzerland before connecting with a local train service to the resort of St Moritz, taking a total of 12 hours. The journey by train is often awe-inspiring as the carriages wind through stunning landscapes in some of the finest scenery in Europe.

The resort of St Moritz also accommodates visitors who choose to arrive by Lear Jet, with its own special airstrip and taxis to and from the resort.
