Getting to Stoneham, Canada for your Skiing and Snowboarding Holiday

Stoneham ski resort is conveniently located 25kms north of Québec City, in the Laurentian Mountains, and is best accessed by flying into Québec City and taking a taxi/limo. The excellent road and rail system allows for comfortable travelling to Québec if you are flying into a different regional city.

Québec City’s Jean Lesage International Airport, which is only a short drive, or bus or taxi ride from Stoneham ski resort, is the nearest airport and receives a lot of flights from within Canada, as well as flights from the US and UK. If you hire a car, take route 138 east, route 40 north and east, and route 73 north to Stoneham.

By road from Montréal, follow highway 20 to Québec City, from where route 73 goes to Stoneham (270kms; three hours). Alternatively, Toronto is over a day’s drive and 800kms along highways 401, 20 and route 73. If coming from New York, follow I-87 and route 15 from the border to Montréal, from where highway 20 goes to Québec.

Canada has a reliable rail network and there are trains from Toronto, Ottawa and Montréal throughout the day. At least four trains run between Montréal and Québec City daily, taking three hours. For those coming from the US eastern seaboard, there is a daily departure from Washington, DC that goes through New York and several other stops in the US and Canada before reaching Montréal.

Greyhound buses arrive in Québec City from Montréal, Ottawa and Toronto, and there are also connections from Boston and New York, via Montréal. Orléans Express runs buses every hour between Montréal and Québec City, and to and from locations within Québec.
