Val Gardena – Selva - San Cristina ski resort is 45kms east of Bolzano in the north of Italy and is directly accessible by road only. Options for getting here include flying, international rail travel to Bolzano, and self-driving. Flying, together with car hire, is the quickest option.
Bolzano Airport is the closest one to Val Gardena – Selva - San Cristina, with Verona Airport and Venice-Marco Polo the other nearest alternatives, connected by train and bus. Regular buses go from Bolzano Airport to the resort villages and back, while train and bus combination, via Chiusa, is possible. Car hire is the quickest transfer option.
Val Gardena is 590kms from Vienna, 320kms from Milan and 1,050kms from Paris and it is linked to the European motorway network at nearby Ponte Gardena, via the SS-242. Coming from the UK, the quickest route from Calais goes via Reims, Metz, Strasbourg, Stuttgart, Munich and Innsbruck. From Innsbruck, head south on the A-13, and then cross the border into Italy to merge with the A-22. Exit on to the SS-242 at Chiusa and head east to Val Gardena (1,250kms; 11 to 12 hours).
There is a direct overnight service from Paris to Verona, from where regional trains go to Chiusa, and then buses and taxis go on to Val Gardena – Selva - San Cristina ski resort. If you are coming from London, there are regular Eurostar services from London’s Waterloo station to Paris, gare du Nord.
