Zell Am See/Kaprun ski resorts are located 100kms southwest of Salzburg, in the state of Salzburg, and there are several options for getting there. Flying to Salzburg International Airport and taking the train from the city is the most practical option; you can transfer to Salzburg train station from the airport by bus or shuttle. Trains run to Zell Am See from London, via three connections; while driving is also popular.

The nearest international airport is Salzburg, which receives worldwide charter and scheduled flights. Regular shuttles and buses go to Salzburg train station from where hourly trains go to Zell Am See. Innsbruck Airport is another option, with rail transfer from the city, and Munich's FJ Strauss Airport has far more flight options. Those travellers on package holidays usually get free transfers.

The most direct self-drive route from Calais takes in the cities of Reims, Metz, Stuttgart, Munich and Salzburg; this is a two-day trip of over 1,200kms. From Salzburg International Airport, drive south on the A-1 and A-10 autobahns and turn right on to the B-311 for Zell Am See. Kaprun is a 15-minute drive from Zell.

Trains arrive in Zell Am See from Salzburg, Innsbruck, Vienna and other directions. From London's Waterloo Station, Eurostar trains leave at 10:29 and 17:09 for Paris, with a change either to Zürich or Munich, on overnight trains. The earlier train from London leaves Paris' gare de Lyon for Zürich on a high-speed TGV train. From Zürich, trains go to Zell Am See with a change at Innsbruck.
