Ski and Snowboarding Information for Alpine, USA

Alpine Mountain ski resort is conveniently located to the northwest of New York City in the Pocono Mountains of eastern Pennsylvania. There are 21 ski and snowboard runs here that are suited to beginners, intermediates and advanced sliders alike, as well as a terrain park with half-pipe, and a unique ski school for kids.

There is a good range of lodgings at Alpine Mountain resort consisting of hotel/resorts, inns, cottages and private villa rentals. The full service lodge has full ski services and facilities, including ski, rental and repair shops, and a certified ski school.

The 21 slopes at Alpine Mountain ski resort are divided into 14 per cent for beginners, 57 per cent for intermediates and 29 per cent for advanced snowboarders and skiers. The longest run is just under two kilometres, and five lift systems provide slope access.

Other winter activities and facilities at Alpine Mountain include a terrain park with half-pipe, and a tubing park. A café and pizza shop provide quick sustenance, and there is also a well-equipped lounge with bar and restaurant offering a wonderful view of the slopes. The nearby town of Mount Pocono has a wide selection of shops in its malls.

The Alpine Mountain ski season runs from December through to March and boasts a hundred per cent snowmaking facilities and its best natural snow in early February. Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport receives many internal flights and direct flights from London, and is only an hour away from Alpine Mountain; together with car hire, this is the most practical transport option.
