Ski and Snowboarding Information for Attitash, USA

Attitash is the biggest ski resort in the Washington Valley area and is also famous for its two interconnected mountains. It excels as a family ski destination, but its variety of terrain plus giant half-pipe and fantastic terrain park, make it a suitable resort for all.

The resort offers everything skiers might need, both in terms of ski facilities and dining and accommodation. Lodgings can be found at the slope itself or at the many motels, inns and lodges within a 13-kilometre radius. Après-ski can be found at the many restaurants and bars, as well as at the multitude of shopping outlets.

Attitash ski resort offers a combined figure of 70 trails and glades for its two mountains (Attitash and Bearpark), with a longest run of four kilometres. Of the 113 hectares of skiable terrain, 20 per cent are beginner slopes, 47 per cent are intermediate, and 33 per cent are advanced. For accomplished skiers, tree-skiing and cross-country skiing are also available. Lifts are plentiful; a total of 12 with an hourly capacity of 14,385 people, service the slopes.

The 200 tax-free outlet shops can provide plenty of off-slope interest. Alternatively, a range of other pursuits are available, including: snowshoeing, ice-fishing, ice-skating, indoor tennis, mountaineering, movies, sledding, sleigh rides, swimming, snowmobiling and racquetball.

Attitash’s ski season begins in early November and runs to late April, and the resort’s large and effective snowmaking machines ensure good snow throughout. A flight to either Portland or Boston airports, followed by a hire car transfer, is the easiest way of getting to Attitash ski resort.
