Ski and Snowboarding Information for Calabogie, Canada

Magnificently situated at the base of Dickson Mountain in the beautiful Ottawa Valley, Calabogie Peaks ski resort is the highest public ski mountain in Ontario, boasting 20 fantastic runs for keen skiers and boarders. Located to the west of Ottawa, Calabogie has guaranteed snow throughout the season due to its 100 per cent snow cannon coverage.

Calabogie Peaks comes with an excellent ski school, a number of shops and childcare facilities, and there is a limited supply of beds available at the well appointed Dickson Manor. The village of Calabogie dates from the early 1800s and together with other surrounding villages, forms the township of Greater Madawaska.

Calabogie’s 20 slopes are divided into 25 per cent for beginners, 35 per cent intermediate and 40 per cent for advanced and expert skiers and snowboarders. Four lift systems service the slopes, the longest of which is two kilometres, and have a capacity for 6,300 people per hour. Also of note is the 24kms of cross-country trails.

One redeeming feature of Calabogie Peaks is the superb snow park, with its beginner bowl and array of rails and boxes. There is also an ice rink for non-skiers, and excellent spa facilities in Dickson Manor. Après-ski at the resort is provided by the Dickson Manor restaurant and the nearby Black Donalds Pub.

The December to April ski season at Calabogie has guaranteed snow throughout due to the spread of snow cannons, and best natural conditions from February to early March. Flying to Ottawa International Airport and taking a return bus transfer to Calabogie is the most practical travel option for getting here. The resort is an easy drive from the airport if you hire a car.
