Ski and Snowboarding Information for Copper Mountain, USA

Copper Mountain is a family-friendly ski resort with well-separated levels of runs for all abilities. The terrain is diverse, ranging from gentle, sloping runs to steep drops and wide-open bowls. Snowboarders also have separate expert and intermediate terrain parks, a super-pipe, quarter-pipe and a mini-pipe.

Copper Mountain Village is a purpose-built, pedestrian resort with an excellent ski school, childcare facilities and a range of shops. There are 4,000 beds, many of which are slope-side, in more than 850 units, including hotel rooms, private homes and condos.

Copper Mountain resort boasts 125 trails that are divided into 21 per cent novice runs, 25 per cent for intermediate cruisers, 36 per cent for advanced sliders, and 18 per cent for experts. The longest slope is 4.5kms, and 23 lifts provide access. The terrain parks feature table-tops, spines, rollers, kickers and two half-pipes; while 26kms of cross-country trails are also available.

Other winter activities and facilities at Copper Mountain resort include: sleigh riding, snowmobiling, ice-skating, tubing and snowshoeing, as well as a comprehensive athletics centre. Grill-houses and fast-food joints are numerous, and there is a wide selection of bars.

The November to mid-April ski season at Copper Mountain offers cheaper rates at the beginning and towards the end of the season, and free/discounted skiing for minors and seniors. The most practical travel option for getting to Copper Mountain resort is to fly to either Denver International or Eagle County airports and transfer by shuttle bus or taxi.
