Located in central Vermont, Killington ski resort is spread over seven mountain peaks and offers extensive snowboarding, with a boarder-cross course, two terrain parks and three half-pipes, including a super-pipe. Many snowboarding events are staged here throughout the season.
The resort village of Killington is a huge, purpose-built resort with great shopping, rental and medical facilities, and a large ski and snowboard school. Killington has extensive slope-side lodgings in hotels and condos, with 5,000 beds available in the village and many more nearby. Childcare facilities are also available.
Killington’s 200 slopes extend over 87kms of terrain and 970m of vertical, and are divided into 30 per cent for beginners, 39 per cent for intermediates and 31 per cent for experts. The longest slope here is a huge 10kms, and 31 lift systems provide the access for over 52,000 people per hour. Additionally, there are 56kms of cross-country trails at Killington resort and a further 170kms nearby.
Killington ski resort also boasts two terrain parks and a boarder-cross course, with three half-pipes (including the super-pipe). Other winter activities and facilities include: ice-fishing, ice-skating, snowmobiling (nearby), sleigh riding, snowshoeing, tubing and tobogganing. There is also a swimming pool and spa, indoor tennis, a health club and a fun park, and the après-ski consists of dozens of bars and nightclubs.
The October to June ski season at Killington ski resort has its cheapest rates before the Christmas holidays and towards the end of March, and best snow conditions from February to mid-March. Flying to Burlington and transferring by shuttle bus or flying to New York and taking a train/bus combination, via Rutland, are your best travel options for getting to Killington ski resort.
