Ski and Snowboarding Information for Madonna di Campiglio, Italy

Lying northwest of Trento in the beautiful Brenta Dolomites, Madonna di Campiglio is an exclusive winter resort with 60kms of great ski and snowboard terrain. Regular snowboarding events are held in Madonna, making it particularly appealing to the younger generation.

Madonna di Campiglio is a well-equipped, traditional mountain village with excellent, modern facilities. For the non-skier, there are plenty of activities and a wide range of shops and boutiques to keep you busy. Lodgings are in apartments, hotels and traditional chalets, and there are over 27,000 guest beds in all.

The 60kms of pistes across 1,030m of vertical terrain at Madonna di Campiglio are graded 44 per cent for beginners, 40 per cent for intermediates and 16 per cent for advanced snowboarders and skiers. Twenty lifts have an hourly capacity for 31,000 people and supply all pistes, the longest of which is seven kilometres. Additionally, thrill-seekers can slide off-piste and expert cross-country skiers have 15kms of superb terrain.

Snowboarders can enjoy the excellent snowboard park, which features a half-pipe, quarter-pipe and boarder cross, with areas for beginners to advanced boarders. Other activities and facilities at Madonna di Campiglio include: natural ice-skating, mono-skiing, squash and sauna. There are some fine restaurants and the nightlife is lively and exciting, with scores of bars and discos.

The best snow conditions of the December to April ski season at Madonna di Campiglio ski resort are in February, while cheaper weeks are available in mid-December and towards the end of April.

While the most convenient means of travel to Madonna is via a flight to Bolzano and Skibus from there, the most practical travel option is to fly to Verona and take a train to Trento, from where buses go to the Madonna di Campiglio.
