Megeve is part of an upmarket ski area, known as Evasion, in the Savoie region of France, situated amid beautiful Alpine scenery. The extensive slopes cover 226kms of terrain, the lower tree-lined regions of which are great for beginners, while advanced snowboarders have excellent open terrain higher up.

The village is an attraction in itself, with its ancient buildings scattered among a web of narrow cobbled lanes. Accommodation options are also vast and there are over 40,000 beds in hotels, chalets and apartments.

Snowboarding and skiing are suitable for all levels of expertise and Megeve’s 226kms are well distributed, with 43 per cent for beginners, 34 per cent for intermediates and the remaining 23 per cent of pistes for experts. The longest run is 3.8kms and 79 lifts can move 38,400 people per hour. Another of Megeve’s attractions is the 75kms of cross-country trails and excellent off-piste.

The resort also features indoor swimming, indoor tennis, a sports centre, climbing wall, beauty farm, bowling alley and cinemas. Fine restaurants and a lively après-ski add to Megeve’s appeal.

The mid-December to mid-April ski season has ideal conditions in February and special offers before December 19 and at the end of the season.
