Ski and Snowboarding Information for Mont Orford, Canada

Mont Orford ski resort is located in the deep south of Québec, not far from the US border and just to the east of Montréal. Orford is a favourite with families and there are runs here for all levels of ability, as well as two excellent snowboarding terrain parks.

There are several hotels, bed-and-breakfasts and rented condominiums to choose from at Orford, and some of the accommodation even has ski-in/ski-out accessibility. Other facilities at the resort include: first-aid, childcare and a range of shops.

Mont Orford boasts 54 separate runs, of which 35 per cent are for beginners, 25 per cent for intermediates and 40 per cent for advanced snowboarders and skiers. Eight ski lifts, including draglifts, chairlifts and a gondola provide access and have a capacity for 11,400 people per hour. For cross-country enthusiasts, there are 13 trails over 47kms of superb and varying terrain.

Apart from the two terrain parks for snowboarders, other activities and facilities include: beginner and expert tubing, ice-climbing, ice-skating, snowshoeing, ice-fishing, curling and sleigh rides (nearby). Indoors, there is also a gym, squash, racquetball, tennis and swimming; while the après-ski consists of several cafés, restaurants and bars.

The December to April ski season at Mont Orford ski resort has its best snow conditions in February and has an 85 per cent artificial snow coverage. The most practical travel option for getting here is to fly return to Montréal and transfer by coach to Mont Orford.
