Mont Tremblant is found in the largely French-speaking Laurentian Mountains of Québec and is the biggest ski resort in eastern Canada. Mont Tremblant is best known for its superb snow parks and excellent cross-country trails, while on-piste snowboard and ski trails stretch for 79kms.
Mont Tremblant is a very colourful, yet traditional and cosy traffic-free ski village. This purpose-built town offers plenty of recreation for skiers and non-skiers alike and features ski-in/ski-out accessibility from much of the accommodation, an array of shops, and excellent childcare facilities.
Ninety-two trails run across 79kms of perfectly groomed, tree-lined terrain that is divided into 16 per cent for beginners, 32 per cent for intermediates and 52 per cent for advanced and expert snowboarders and skiers. Eleven lifts have an hourly uplift capacity of 25,000 people and supply all pistes, the longest of which is 5.2kms (Nansen). Cross-country skiers have 200kms of well-groomed trails, 90kms with direct access from the base of the mountain.
Other activities and facilities at Mont Tremblant ski resort include: an ice-skating rink on Lac Miroir - on the south side, and a skating oval on Lake Moore in the village; snowshoeing; sleigh rides; skidooing; ice climbing; and two commendable snow parks. A fitness centre, swimming pool and hot tubs are also available; while the après-ski features over 40 restaurants, three bars and a disco.
The December to April ski season at Mont Tremblant has its best snow conditions in February and cheaper incentives running up to the Christmas holidays and towards the end of the season. The most practical travel option for getting to Mont Tremblant is to take a return flight to Montréal and transfer by bus, share taxi/limousine, or hire a car.
