Mt Bachelor is a dormant volcano in the Cascade Mountains, rising above Oregon's high desert, and a low-key ski area that has a range of slopes for all levels of ability. Several major snowboarding events are staged here and there is an extensive programme for snowboarders at all levels, including the High Cascade Snowboard Camps for women, as well as two terrain parks and half-pipe.
There is no accommodation at the resort but plenty of hotels, motels, inns and bed-and-breakfasts can be found in the nearby town of Bend. Facilities-wise, Mount Bachelor has several ski/sports and rental shops, excellent childcare services ($40 per day), a cross-country centre and a renowned ski school.
