Ski and Snowboarding Information for Rogla, Slovenia

Rogla ski resort is located in the northeast of Slovenia, in the Pohorje Mountains, and is surrounded by fantastic scenery. Facilities are located at the top of the mountain and the 10kms of easy to moderate snowboarding and skiing is ideal for families.

The resort of Rogla has good facilities, but for a greater selection of shops and amenities, head for the nearby spa town of Zrece. This historical city also offers around 500 beds in hotels and chalets, about the same as offered in Rogla itself. Childcare facilities are available at Rogla.

There are 10kms of slopes at Rogla; the longest is 1.5kms. The runs are divided into 25 per cent for beginners and 75 per cent for lower intermediates to intermediates. Eleven chairlifts provide access to all pistes and, in addition, there is 30kms of cross-country skiing on a high plateau.

Other winter activities and facilities at Rogla ski resort include: tobogganing, hiking, sledding, horseback riding, squash, indoor tennis, indoor swimming, basketball, volleyball, and a host of other sporting activities. There are some fine restaurants in Rogla and a cinema, bars and discos provide the après-ski.

The November to April ski season at Rogla ski resort has its best snow conditions in February. The most practical travel option for getting to Rogla is to fly to Ljubljana and take the Skibus, via Celje and Zrece, or train to Celje and local bus to the resort. Hiring a car will hasten the transfer time and is a good option for seeing the area.
