Snowbird resort has the largest vertical rise in Utah and is among the top ten ski resorts in the nation. There are 85 slopes at Snowbird, which include some fantastic expert terrain, and you'll also find three terrain parks and a 50-metre-wide, 120-metre-long super-pipe with 5.5-metre walls.
Snowbird resort is a purpose-built, modern pedestrian village with ski-in/ski-out accessibility and all essential facilities and services. There are thousands of beds available in hotels and condominiums, while the Cliff Lodge is a top rate resort with spa facilities.
Snowbird ski resort’s 85 slopes are divided into 27 per cent beginner, 38 per cent intermediate and 35 per cent expert; the expert terrain is particularly exciting. The vertical is in excess of 900m, and 10 lifts carry up to 16,800 people per hour to all slopes, the longest of which is four kilometres. There is no cross-country at Snowbird, but nearby Alta has five kilometres of Nordic tracks.
Other winter activities and facilities at the resort include: snowcat and heliskiing, and guided snowshoe outings, as well as indoor tennis, racquetball, squash and fitness facilities. The Cliff Lodge has a spa, yoga classes, and an exclusive rooftop pool with hot tub, as well as a dozen great restaurants and as many shops.
The November to May ski season at Snowbird ski resort has its best conditions in February/March and offers discounts to those over 65 years of age and free lifts for children up to the age of 12. The most practical travel option for getting to and from Snowbird is to fly to Salt Lake City and transfer to the resort by shuttle bus. If you’re staying in the city, the UTA light rail and UTA bus network runs from downtown to Snowbird for $5.
