Ski and Snowboarding Information for Stoneham, Canada

Nestled in a horseshoe-shaped valley in the Laurentian Mountains to the north of Québec City, Stoneham ski resort has 30 ski and snowboard trails, ranging from beginner to expert, and one of Canada's best terrain parks, including two half-pipes and a boardercross course.

Perched at 632m above sea level, Stoneham resort has slope-side and mountain lodgings. Additionally, the resort is near enough to Québec City to make commuting fairly comfortable and thus allows skiers to take advantage of the huge range and quality of accommodation in the city. Facilities at the resort are very good and there is an excellent ski school.

Stoneham’s 30 slopes are divided into 20 per cent for beginners, 37 per cent for intermediates and 43 per cent for those at an advanced and expert level; the longest run is 3.2kms. There are four high-speed lifts among the ten, and all have a total capacity for 14,200 people per hour. Additionally, Stoneham has 20kms of cross-country trails.

There are three terrain parks for snowboarders, featuring a super-pipe, large half-pipe, and 15 rails and 10 table-tops, as well as a one-kilometre permanent boardercross course. Ice-skating is also available at Stoneham, while the après-ski consists of four quality restaurants and two bars.

Stoneham ski resort’s mid-November to mid-April ski season has its best natural conditions in February and peak weeks around Christmas and the New Year holidays. Flying to Québec City’s Jean Lesage International Airport and transferring by bus to the city and shuttle to Stoneham ski resort, or by share taxi is the most practical travel option for getting here.
