Ski and Snowboarding Information for Sugarbush, USA

Lying in the centre of Vermont across two of the state’s largest peaks, Sugarbush is a family-focused ski resort with terrific natural skiing and abundant snowfalls. Intermediates and experts have the best terrain. Snowboarding is allowed and includes five terrain parks, a half-pipe, and a junior quarter-pipe.

There is a first-aid station plus childcare facilities and sports/rental shops at the base; while the mainstay of the facilities and lodging area is the village of Waitsfield, to the east. Here, you will find a range of shops and 7,000 hotel, motel and condo beds or, if you prefer to be nearer the mountains, there are over 2,000 beds slope-side.

There are 50kms of slopes at Sugarbush resort over an impressive 115 runs that are divided into 18 per cent beginner, 39 per cent intermediate and 43 per cent advanced and expert runs. Access is provided by 20 lifts, and the longest slope is 4.8kms. In addition, there are over 70kms of cross-country trails.

Other winter activities and facilities include: ice-skating, sledding, snowshoeing, skijoring, Icelandic horseback riding, sleigh riding, snowmobiling and tubing. There is also swimming, saunas, racquetball, squash, tennis, an exercise room and a climbing wall. Nightlife is more family-oriented, but there is a comprehensive range of restaurants.

The November to May ski season at Sugarbush has its best natural snow conditions in February/March, and children under six years ski for free. There is a choice of airports worth considering when travelling to Sugarbush; Burlington International Airport is the closest and has the fastest transfer times. Many hotels offer a free pick-up service and there are several other shuttle bus companies and taxis available.
